Avish has been with the University of Michigan since 2012, where she is currently a Research Fellow at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2014 and 2019, respectively. She is currently developing advanced wireless technologies for various emerging markets and is also co-founder of SkyGig, an innovative wireless technology company targeting high-frequency communication markets, among others. Since July 2019, she has been an Entrepreneurial Research Fellow with Activate-Cyclotron Road, a hard-tech accelerator for scientific researchers to transform their technology to commercial products.

Avish’s research focuses broadly on high performance wireless radio circuits and systems; RF/mixed signal Integrated Circuits for wireless transceivers and System-on-a-Chips, as well as RF front-end circuits & antennas, for communications, sensing, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Her current research focuses on power- and spectral-efficient wireless systems, power-efficient RFICs, novel beamforming front-ends, phased array systems, and adaptive massive antennas arrays in high performance millimeter-wave applications among others.
